Lilleshall Junior Competitions
Junior coaching finishes at 11.00 am each Sunday.
Junior competitions Tee time follows at 12.30- 1pm, and will be supervised by a junior organiser
This enables practice and lunch before playing in the competitions.
As competitions team have a duty to all members to not block tees needlessly. Juniors must sign up for Sunday competitions by Thursday 9pm or the tee reservation will be released. Do not worry who you sign up with just click on you’re a slot and it will be organised on the day
Junior Competitions will be played in two groups, which will be sorted on the day.
WHS handicapped juniors will be eligible for 18-hole trophy competitions
Coaches Handicapped Juniors will be offered 9-hole competition experience.
2023 Season beginning April.
Junior organisers are planning, 1 medal competition , 1 Stableford competition and 1 non qualifying ‘fun’ Competition each month from April, through to September/
Major junior competitions starting in May. 9-hole competitions will be run concurrently for the Coaches H/C group in line with the above.
Running only 2 junior qualifying competitions each month leaves 1 week free for possible county fixtures & coaching, although I do not yet know when the county fixtures might be.
The non-qualifying competition each month is to introduce the juniors to the various formats of play, greensomes, better ball etc so that it is not the same each month
The Saturday & free Sunday will enable the Junior organisers & WHS juniors to enter Club competitions.
The following 5 competitions have honours boards either side of the stairs leading up to the office, winners will have their names recorded on these boards and on the trophy in recognition of outstanding achievement.
Kynaston Cup – Final Medal 10th September.
Eligible players are all the season’s Medal winners and runners up
TK Jarrat – Final Stableford 17th September
Eligible players are all the season’s Stableford winners and runners up
Trevor Abbots Trophy – Medal full handicap 4th June 2023
Ray Hart Summer Trophy 29th May – 3rd September
Match Play Round Robin against each Junior in your group.
Full handicap Allowance. You gain 1 point for each hole you win and 1⁄2 points for halved holes.
Players arrange their own games.
Junior Championship Medal rounds over 1or 2 days 27 or 36holes 2nd & 3rd September
The following prestigious events do not have honours boards; however, they have trophies and provide the ultimate club experience for competitive golf.
Captain’s Weekend: Captains Junior Prize 25th June
President’s Platter: 18-hole Stableford 30th July
Consistency cup: Medal Eclectic.
Low net score for each hole from all 6 monthly medal competitions, best card wins. April To September
