Golfmark Accreditation

Published by admin on

On 14th September Lilleshall Hall secured the prestigious Golfmark and Clubmark Awards offered by England Golf and Sport England. Your Committee has been working hard over the past 12 months to ensure the necessary structures were put in place. For Golfmark accreditation the Club had to demonstrate achievement of distinct standards and progress in the areas of:

Recruitment and Retention – driving to attract new members and increased participation

Management and Sustainability – involving practical business planning

Coaching and Competition –  enhancing opportunities for all golfers

Safeguarding – ensuring appropriate policies and procedures are in place to create a safe and welcoming environment

Golfmark is an ongoing Planning and Monitoring mechanism helping clubs to continually develop. At 12 and 24 months the Club will submit an updated Action Plan plus Benchmarking Data and every 3 years will need to submit comprehensive evidence to show it remains on track.

Clubmark was introduced by Sport England to assist in the drive for greater participation in sport and focuses upon higher standards of welfare, equity, coaching and management. Clubmark sits alongside Golfmark accreditation.

Although not the main motivator, a spin off benefit for the Club is that Golfmark accreditation allows us to claim a substantial Business Rates Rebate from the County Council.

We are delighted to be recognised by way of these awards and your Committee is working tirelessly to promote your Club for both social and competitive golfers.
